I borrowed one of our new books to read over the weekend and have been recommending it to everyone since.
Ida B: . . . and Her Plans to Maximize Fun, Avoid Disaster, and (Possibly) Save the World is written by Katherine Hannigan. If you are a Judy Blume fan, and enjoyed The Bridge to Terabithia or because of Winn-Dixie, you will love this. It's a bit sad sometimes, but funny too.

I'm looking forward to reading some of the new Judy Blume books that arrived this term. I read  Are You There God?, It's Me, Margaret when I was about 10, and recommend that all year 6 girls read it.

If you're in the mood to do some writing of your own, have a look at these new books.  Try your hand at a poem, a play, a SCARY story, or even a picture book. We have quite a few authors already at Dyer Street School!
